Universal Motion Base for Heavy Equipment Sims

Serious Labs unveiled its latest technology innovation: a Universal Motion Base (UMB) for seated Virtual Reality (VR) Heavy Equipment Simulators in the Festival Hall, booth F100901. The UMB has been designed as the common foundation for the development of additional VR equipment simulators such as skid steers, dozers, excavators, backhoes, and more – as well as for vehicles such as buses and trucks. Training Program for Maritime Industry

Irish tech firm VRAI win innovation prize

  VRAI, an Irish data-driven VR simulation company, have won the Dublin City Enterprise Award. They receive €5,000 and will Dublin City at the 22nd National Enterprise Awards on May 28 at the Mansion House in Dublin. VRAI will compete against 30 other finalists from every local authority area for a share of the €40,000 prize fund. VRAI created HEAT, which allows organisations whose activities are risky, remote or rare to train in a more authentic and measurable way.  HEAT creates virtual training environments, with data capture and analytics, to improve performance, safety and training outcomes. They provide services to the defence, security, energy, utilities, aviation and construction sectors. Resident Physicians Train for Coronavirus

The world is at the brink of a pandemic as officials rush to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus. With seven reported cases in Florida to-date, emergency medicine resident physicians from Florida Atlantic University’s Schmidt College of Medicine prepared for the threat of a coronavirus contagion using a simulated or “mock” disaster scenario. Photo by Alex Dolce. About 100 people participated in the half-day simulation at FORTS Medical in Coconut Creek, including local nurses, paramedics, and student and community actors. The coronavirus simulation involved a cruise ship dock-setting scenario with mock cruise ship passengers who were exposed to the virus and were presenting with symptoms from this infectious disease. Transported by bus, the mock passengers stormed into the large warehouse to challenge 18 of FAU’s emergency medicine resident physicians to react and respond quickly to triage the patients.
