ABSTRACT
Team Resilience Training in Virtual and Live Environments

The Royal Norwegian Naval Academy (RNoNA) has an interest in enhancing military teams’ knowledge, skills and abilities to deal with complex situations and environments. To produce cost effective training methods, we have focused on developing curriculums for virtual and live training, both separately and in combined (blended) scenarios. We have found strong connections and transferability of team performance efforts and assessments between virtual and live training environments.

OBJECTIVE: A presentation of The Royal Norwegian Naval Academy’s training philosophy for team leadership development, and how simulated and live training scenarios have been found to answer these requirements. The presentation will also show how creative scenario design can extend the usability of an already installed simulator equipment, without additional cost.
