VirTra Releases the New V-DTS Driver Simulator

VirTra recently debuted a driver simulator at IACP 2019, which received great feedback and acceptance. Now the company is ready to sell and install this new technology for users. The VirTra Driver Training System (V-DTS) is designed to provide cognitive training to law enforcement while helping them learn different styles of driving – from patrol to pursuit. Instructors can allow trainees to experience free drive, pursue a fleeing suspect and more with numerous weather and road condition variations. To challenge an officer further, instructors can even add heavy traffic or a large number of pedestrians. Designed by VirTra’s team of developers and artists using the Unity 3D game engine, the V-DTS lets users experience stunning graphics along with realistic simulation physics and vehicle movement from a durable mechanical motion rig.

Varjo is partnering with Cognitive3D, a Canadian company that provides tools for professionals to measure and understand user behavior in immersive environments. The Cognitive3D software can be used to capture user interactions, position, biometrics and eye tracking using Varjo’s virtual and mixed reality (VR/MR) headsets. Health Scholars COVID-19 Surge Provider Training Grant

Health Scholars received $1 million in grant funding for surge provider training to help combat COVID-19. The grant will provide approximately14,000 providers its virtual reality (VR) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Desktop Simulation Training to assist health systems with preparedness training. It will enable hospitals to quickly deploy training to surge providers needing to acquire or re-acquire clinical skills related to emergency situations—such as dysrhythmia or a code event. IntelyCare Launches First COVID-19 Training Program for Nurses

In response to the global COVID-19 pandemic, IntelyCare is launching the first training certification program specific to nursing facilities. The training will update nursing professionals on COVID-19 prevention and treatment practices in order to maintain the health of nurses and patients during the outbreak. “As we monitored the spread of coronavirus, it rapidly became clear that nursing homes are ground zero and healthcare workers are at high risk of infection. PSMF and APSF Award Patient Safety Curriculum Award

The Anesthesia Patient Safety Foundation (APSF) and the Patient Safety Movement Foundation (PSMF) announced that Brian Bensadigh, MD, MBA of the Keck School of Medicine of USC, has been awarded the 2020 Patient Safety Curriculum Award (PSCA). Dr. Bensadigh’s proposal, “Perioperative Patient Safety Curriculum for Anesthesia Trainees,” was selected from an outstanding field of applications. The 2020 PSCA awards $100,000 to an anesthesia education investigator for the purpose of modifying the PSMF’s Actionable Patient Safety Solutions (APSS) #17: Patient Safety Curriculum to specifically address perioperative patient safety.
